Who we are
In conjunction with the Arnprior Public Library Board, the Friends support and promote the services of the library.  Our group will strive to improve community awareness, understanding and enjoyment of library services in the area.
We nurture an appreciation of literature and culture in our community. This is accomplished by means of events such as author readings, artist showings, historical lectures, mystery nights and so forth.  We work from a position of advocacy on the behalf of the Library and its staff.
Membership The group currently has four members.  We welcome members from Arnprior, McNab/Braeside, White Lake and the immediate area. Meetings are held approximately every 6 weeks unless planning an event.    We also would like to hear from anyone who wishes to join our list of volunteers.  We can benefit from your specific interests and skills and will give you a choice of projects to work on.

Events  -  See what's happening !
Many thanks for community support of Thrilling Tales - the Friends' Cultural Event featured adult readings by Karen DeLuca and a fabulous dessert bar.  Plans are underway for a similar program in the fall.
The premiere event hosted by the Friends of the Arnprior Public Library was the December 2008 production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol reading.  Special thanks extended to CBC Radio for their assistance. It was a standing room only production -  with a promise from the Friends group to host similar cultural events in the future. dickens.jpg (33238 bytes) Photo used with permission of the EMC
